Chains

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here.

All of us are raised in different ways. Some of us grow up in a loving house with God in it. Some of us grow up in a broken home where God isn't in it. Some went to church, prayed together, learned about God, and had a great time growing up with very few problems. Some went through life growing up not knowing God with divorce, drugs, alcohol, etc and not going to church ever. However, we all need to find our way in life and be responsible for our own actions later in life. God is our judge... Not our parents or anyone else.

Ezekiel 18:20 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

No matter how you grew up, we can all break the chains that need to be broken! Just because your dad was abusive or your mom was an alcoholic, doesn't mean you will be that way. It also doesn't mean that just because that was an issue, you can use it as an excuse for you to also be that way! When you put God in your life and put him first in your life, anything is possible! God always provides! God is always there! Stop worrying about the past and give it to Him! Nothing comes easy... you have to be willing to put in the work!

Romans 12:1-2 (1) Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--- this is your true and proper worship. (2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Once you give your life to Christ and make him number one, he will guide you and help you through these tough times of struggle. Stop and pray! Spend time with him and listen to what he's telling you and you will get your answers. No matter how you grow up or what kind of life you've had, if you don't have God in it, you will never be able to break the chains that hold you back from being who God wants you to be! Run after him with all your heart and you will shatter those chains that have held you down!!
